what an extraordinary book by a very great writer. I was reading this for about two months. It is a masterpiece and yet nobody is talking about it. its told in first person Adam ( probably no accident that he used the name of the First Man) fromage 13 to 70s. during these years he remains i think a solid person who loves respects his family including his lesbian mother Ray the skier ands her partner Molly the ski scout and her husband Elliot or the english teacher or the snowshoer who takes on life as a trans and then his lesbian cousin Nora and her lover ? and his father Paul who became father at age 15 unknown to him. So we see life from his place in life as a successful fiction writer a straight singl man until his fifties and then there is his and ? son Matthew. in this story it continuallu unfolds in ways only a brilliant fiction writer could design. i believe some of Adam is John Irving and some of John Irving is on these 900 pages.
(to b continued )
